Neil Smith

Founder and Principal Consultant

Our Founder, Neil, has over 16 years' experience advising on privacy, information law and governance at a strategic level, gained in the public and private sectors. He has held a number of senior privacy roles at Bupa, Yorkshire Building Society, Capita Primary Care Support England (PCSE) and the College of Policing. He has advised start-ups and has substantial experience of acting as a DPO and advising on and managing all aspects of privacy and data protection, information governance and compliance.

Neil holds an undergraduate and masters degree in law, a post graduate diploma in legal practice and an advanced certificate in compliance. He also holds a BSC Data Protection Practitioner Certificate.

Outside of work, Neil enjoys running and is regularly seen on the canals and local Park Runs pursuing that PB. He also enjoys hiking, cooking and being out in the garden. He is also a lover of cats :)
